AARTO Workshops

Why is it important for everyone to know about the Administrative Adjudication of Road Traffic Offences (AARTO) Act (No. 46 of 1998)? AARTO is no longer just talk. It will be implemented during the course of 2008 and will affect everyone on our roads who does not obey the traffic laws and rules of the road. As a driver without an understanding of AARTO legislation, and the processes involved, you could have your licence suspended and be without a job and a source of income.

As an owner of a vehicle or fleet of vehicles you could have all your vehicles suspended and be put out of business. To ensure that you and/or your drivers do not fall prey to AARTO, it is of great importance that you attend this one-day workshop to gain a better understanding of AARTO.

Workshop Content

During this workshop, the following topics are covered:

·                What is AARTO?

·                The AARTO process

·                Demerit points

·                Drivers’ liabilities

·                Owners’ responsibilities and liabilities

eLearning on the move

The NaTIS Licensing Legislation and Procedures (NLLP) course is presented by TIDASA for the Institute of Licence Officials of Southern Africa (ILO). It is an eLearning self study package that equips learners with the knowledge and skills to implement the National Road Traffic Act (No. 93 of 1996). This course is based on distance education principles and makes use of the FIST (Formal In-Service Training) principle. The learners learn at their own speed, and are never absent from the workplace due to training.

The NLLP deals with the theory of licensing pertaining to the registration and licensing of motor vehicles, learners’ and driving licences, roadworthiness certification. The course is suitable for all staff at registering authorities, driving licence test centres and vehicle testing stations.

Free AIDS Awareness Workshops!

As part of TIDASA's commitment to improving the health and social welfare of our country, we present free HIV/AIDS awareness workshops for individuals. These half-day workshops focuses on the basics of HIV and AIDS, how you get infected, the virus's effect on your body and its connection to tuberculoses and sexually transmitted diseases. The workshop provides valuable information on testing, safety measures, what support is available and how the law protects individuals with HIV or AIDS.
