Special consulting projects

Capacity-building framework for RDM training

Our team of instructional design specialists, in collaboration with Department of Water Affairs and Forestry (DWAF) personnel, academics, and scientific specialists, designed a training and capacity-building framework for the implementation of Resource Directed Measures (RDM). This was done on behalf of the Directorate of Scientific Services, DWAF. The project focused on Chapter Three of the National Water Act (No. 36 of 1998).

TIDASA, with its expertise and experience in training, collaborated with DWAF staff to create a training framework for RDM implementation that spanned a large variety of technical areas.

FETWater

The Framework Programme for Education and Training in Water (FETWater) is a joint networking initiative by DWAF, the Water Research Commission, UNESCO and the Flemish Government. It aims to facilitate capacity building, training and education opportunities to people in the water sector in southern and South Africa.

TIDASA was involved in the FETWater Water Environment Management Programme (WEM) from its inception. TIDASA played a key role in this project as RDM-specific material developed for DWAF by TIDASA was selected as a pilot area of activities. TIDASA was also involved in the design and development of an MSc course for RDM Technical Integrators as part of their FETWater activities.

KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport

A contract was awarded to TIDASA for the planning phase of the following projects:

• Training institution and ABET programme alignment
• Skills development administration and management and in-house training programme enhancement
• Administration and Information Management System (AIMS)
• Awareness campaign and skills development branding process
• Bursar development and support programme
